It’s a fact. If you read books, they can help you make selections, and if you write books they can help spread the word. We all need book bloggers. So spread the love.
With that being said please check out Sarah’s Reviews blog here and if you are looking for a chance to win a free book go to her giveaway page for a chance to win my book Shadowed Souls.
I am currently on my third cup of coffee today and trying my best to cram as much school writing in as possible. I have to admit writing grad school papers is not nearly as much fun as writing books. Fact.
The school piece has delayed my writing schedule as well. I only have three more weeks of classes and then I hope to return to writing the second book. Somewhere a few weeks ago I was somewhat delusional and thought I could write fiction along with taking two intense crammed summer courses for clinical counseling. (yep, I had no clue.)
In the meantime, I hope you check out First Fall to hold you over. I am considering writing another short story between the two novels since my school schedule has set things back a wee bit. I will update everyone as that progresses into reality or not.
I hope everyone is having a great summer and staying cool. Sheesh, I never thought that I would ever think that 94°F/34°C was just warm.
Okay, I seriously have to get back to writing about group counseling. Don’t be jealous. (I know you’re not.)
Ear Candy of the day: Katy Perry – Wide Awake
(I really like the visuals in this video)
First Fall is out! It is currently available on my website (books page) and Smashwords. I have it set to be distributed through Smashwords to Amazon, Barns and Noble, Kobo etc but at this time, it has not been uploaded. I have noticed that there is a delay in the channel distribution at Smashwords, and I assume it is due to the high volume of independent books being published these days.
Please read it and let me know your thoughts.
Ear candy of the day: Christina Perri – Distance
A smile. An encouraging word. A thoughtful gesture. Each day people interact with us, help, and make our day a bit brighter and full. This is especially true in the Writing Community.
Take a second to think about writers you know, like the critique partner who works with you to improve your manuscript. The writing friend who listens, supports and keeps you strong when times are tough. The author who generously offers council, advice and inspiration when asked.
So many people take the time to make us feel special, don’t they? They comment on our blogs, re-tweet our posts, chat with us on forums and wish us Happy Birthday on Facebook.
I am giving a shout-out to Robert Monahan, who reminded me why I was doing this…for the love of just being able to tell a story.
Do you know someone special that you’d like to randomly acknowledge? Don’t be shy–come join us and celebrate! Send them an email, give them a shout out, or show your appreciation in another way. Kindness makes the world go round.
Becca and Angela have a special RAOK gift waiting for you as well, so hop on over to The Bookshelf Muse to pick it up.
It has been a month since my last post; things have been all over the place, which means my posts will be random and sporadic. I am in the midst of some personal and professional changes in my life. Life can be hectic all by itself and when trying to find the time to write a sequel along with those changes can be even more challenging.
In other news, I did an interview with Kitty from Great Minds Think Aloud Literary Community. Click here or here to read the interview.
I hope you enjoy them.
My short story, First Fall, which is a stand alone and prequel to Shadowed Souls is coming out soon.
Ear candy of the day and my current theme song: Kelly Clarkson- Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)
It’s been four months since I released Shadowed Souls. That’s just crazy. I have been busy writing a short story, which is a prequel to Shadowed Souls and that is currently being edited. I will let everyone know when it will be available. I am still writing the second book in the series and I can’t wait to share with everyone the trouble Ava gets herself into next.
I am looking forward to this weekend being St. Patrick’s day. I’m starting Saturday off with running a race before I join in on all the festivities. I have to admit that I will NOT be drinking any green beer, nor have I ever. Why drink green beer when you can drink a Guinness?
So, if you are going out this weekend have fun and be safe!

I love songs that have multiple meanings, so the ear candy of the day is Sinead O’Connor – This is a Rebel Song
I am putting the ebook version of Shadowed Souls on sale for .99 cents for a limited time. I figured since my main characters are Irish it only makes sense to celebrate their heritage for the whole month of March. Of course it helps that I am Irish too and enjoy Saint Patrick’s day.
So, if you know anyone who enjoys urban fantasies with strong female characters spread the word.
Ear candy of the day: Gaelic Storm – Kiss me I’m Irish
